One the one hand, I think it's fair to give anyone two fights to acclimatise to a new division (I would allow for more but guys only fight twice a year nowadays).
On the other, I do wonder if he's drifting towards that Kell Brook zone, unable to make his ideal weight but not quite big enough to move up.
    Time will tell I suppose.

It wasnt like he went life and death with him like Joshua did with Klitchko, he beat him down for 12 rounds. So he took awhile to knock him out but still knocked him out. No big deal.

Took him time to beat down a gimp
But then wants to compare him to the Gamboa which Crawford fought ( 5 years earlier mind you )

He's bigger than Gamboa. Gamboa is a super feather.

I wouldn't say Gamboa exposed Davis, but Tank’s performance was weak on several levels and raises some questions. His dedication and commitment, for one. Davis missed weight moving up. Then it seemed apparent that Tank wasn’t properly conditioned for the fight. He fought in spurts, with long lulls in activity. He was even breathing heavy in the post-fight interview. Davis couldn’t properly finish an old, faded and clearly injured Gamboa, who was stationary and only able to move his upper body and head. Then there’s the question of power. Gervonta knocked Yuri down three times, but Gamboa is notorious for visiting the canvass often in his career. Davis caught him several other times with hard, flush shots and nothing happened. Everyone, including the commentators, took note of that.

Based on this one performance, it’s impossible to say where Gervonta belongs in the 135 scheme. But it’s early evidence that he’s not in the same league with the top guys, like Lomachenko. Davis is going to need fights with an increasing level of competition to prepare...and then we’ll know.

Kills me when they bring up that performance to hype up Gamboa. Yuri has looked worse than awful since. He’s not only 38, but he’s been clearly washed up for years. It’s been sad to watch the decline. Even before the injury in the Davis fight, you could see that Gamboa was a shell. The first knockdown came as no surprise. The fact that Tank had so much trouble finishing the injured Gamboa was.

                Couldn’t agree more
Then we had some poster on this site trying to convince people that if Gamboa wasn’t reduced to a gimp , that Stank would of been able to get him out of there much earlier and easier
Talk about being paranoid after watching their boy Stank being really Stanky lol

It looked bad when i read your post on reflection of Tank's performance, the fact that Yuri had one leg also kinda made what you said true. I just feel Tank has been mismanaged, maybe he isn't a good as we all thought? Or maybe his team know something that we all knew?

I rate him quite highly but am also careful as well not to go overboard, this is why i wanted better competition for him over the last 2 years and his team seems to want to build him up as a "Star" without actually taking on the sort of competition that would make him a "Star".

Only time would tell with him.

... in his past 22 fights, Davis boxed an average of only 3 rounds per fight!...
That's what happens when you fight over matched opponents you're whole career.
