  • Comments Thread For: Arum Fully Supports Tyson Fury's Decision To Replace Davison

Back on December 15, BoxingScene.com first reported that former unified heavyweight champion Tyson Fury was in the process of replacing his head trainer, Ben Davison. A few hours later, Fury confirmed the report and announced that he hired trainer Sugarhill Steward, who is based in Detroit. Steward is the nephew of Hall of Fame coach Emanuel Steward.

Fury needs to come in better shape than he did last time. Fury was slowing late and Wilder was timing him. I'm not sure if anything will work, but Fury has to up his game. Wilder got a good long look at the mongoose, twitching junkie dance.

It seemed like he kept that kid around more of a life coach than a real trainer, but hey, it was working.

Tyson gave that kid Davison false confidence, lol the kid was a footballer and conditioning coach he knew jack all about boxing. He was billy joe saunders friend and conditioning guy. I cant believe tyson made him a boxing trainer. Its like taking an average joe who only casually watched boxing and fill their head up with hot air gassing them up saying they can train

Brandon Lee was born before me and died before me. Same with River Phoenix.

I think that's a tad unfair. Whenever i've listened to Ben Davidson talk boxing, he comes across as a student of the game (albeit a young one). He also boxed as an amateur so does have a background in the sweet science.
