Prime Gamboa was a beast... A shot to sh#t, injured, cant pull the trigger Gamboa gave Tank a harder fight thsn expected. I'd pick prime Gamboa over this Tank version

LOL. Its a bit fishy that you are talking about the 2019 Tank taking on the 2008 Gamboa. Crawford also did a better job against a younger and not injured Gamboa.

Look my friend. We are all sat here waiting with bags full of credit to throw at Tank Davis. We can all see he is a hell of a fighter. But our bags of credit are not going to be opened with a win over an old and injured Gamboa. We just waiting on Tank to show us he is the best by fighting and beating the best. When that happens that bag of credit will be in hand and opened for Tank.

Until then stop trying to force it. We aint idiots and we know what we are seeing.

By denying the injury it really doesn’t make Tank look any better

Gamboa was way faster and his reflexes were on point but was super reckless and Davis picks his shots very carefully and he is very accurate as well but We know tonight was throwing excessive wild punches.. he ain't ready for HI-TECH

Its more believable than Kovalev getting ko'd on purpose.

My guess is Davis goes back to fighting guys ranked outside the top 15 or so as long as he can. More than likely he will take a very long break until his next fight, which is his m.o., and when he does finally return do not be surprised when its against a no-hoper. He is trying to wait until Loma moves up again or gets beaten by Lopez so he does not have to fight him. As for Lopez he is also waiting for him to move up to 140lbs so he has an excuse not to fight him. If Tank refuses to fight guys in his own promotion like Santa Cruz and Russell ( Cruz and Russell and Tank all refuse to fight each other) what makes anyone think he will fight Loma or Lopez?

Does everyone recall when Arum only made in-house fights and everyone was ticked off about it. Well at least he made in-house fights with his best fighters fighting each other. PBC fighters won't fight anyone outside PBC yet they won't even do in-house fights which by definition are the easiest fights to get made. They won't fight guys outside of PBC and they won't fight guys within PBC so who in the hell are they going to fight in order to make them stars?

Agree with OP...Achilles injury is debilitating. Gamboa was anything but debilitated.
He's still no slouch and never has been. Crawford was a stylistic nightmare for a little guy like Gamboa. He and Tank are dimensionally equals.
Tank was sharp. Looked Floyd like to me. Shot in for left hands and right hooks and quickly ducked the counter, caught and parried almost everything. Only got really hit cleanly during that lapse of judgement and a few roughhouse moments from Gamboa.
Tank looked sharp as hell. He schooled a master....that is not to be taken lightly
