Don't mistake Gervonta Davis vacating a junior lightweight title for the second time with his being done with the division. For now, all focus is on adding a third belt as the unbeaten southpaw from Baltimore collides with Miami-based Cuban export Yuriorkis Gamboa (30-2, 18KOs) for a vacant lightweight title. Their bout takes place this Saturday, airing live on Showtime from State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.

Yeah conveniently go back down in weight where you'd struggle even more to come in under the limit. But why? To avoid the top 135lbers?

He can’t even make 135 comfortably. I’m sure he’ll drop down a weight class no problem.

I'd be a two division, three-time world champion. So, I thought it was a great idea to do, so we did it.”

what an empty hollow career. he's counting this fight as a championship fight lol.

This is fatalism 101, iffing and wishing when facts don't add up. I thought tank was short at 130, he must be feeling chunky at 135. Name a short fat successful fighter, other than Andy, Tank is wasting it in my book. Somebody is going to run him back to 130, but by then he'll have stretch marks and sagging skin. All I see is lazy.

All the smoke is at 135. Cut the s***. Nothing worthwhile at 130.

Fat boy couldn’t make 135 and he’s gonna drop back down. 5 lbs is a lot when your that small and don’t have much to lose.

pretty sure he's referring to a leo santa cruz fight at 130, but he wouldnt make weight and they would just change the weight to like 133-134-135 whatever tank felt like and the fight would continue and it would waste everyones time
