Jean Pascal surprised a lot of people when he upset Marcus Browne in August to capture the WBA world light heavyweight title. Prior to that fight Pascal had lost 2 of his previous 4 bouts. Browne started off strong the fight as his superior boxing skills were on display. However, the crafty veteran started to close the gap and floored Browne in the 4th round and twice more in the 7th. Pascal had all of the momentum when the fight was stopped due to a cut over Browne's left eye after a clash of heads in the 8th. Pascal was up by a single point on all 3 scorecards.

And that's exactly why my weekend bets will be as follows:

    1) Something on Jack inside the limit at 5.5
    2) Something on Pascal inside the limit at 8
    3) Draw at 26

The money must be good on Jack inside 5.5rds with the chin Pascal has shown throughout his career.

No man, those numbers are the odds. They pay x5.5 if Jack wins inside, and x8 if Pascal does the same. Whatever the round. It's not unlikely that the fight ends inside the distance, though it also could end on points given that they're friends and perhaps won't want to punish themselves too much... We'll see.

I'm also observing Gamboa's odds for a points win on Tank Davis at 29... might be tempted to throw something on that, too

I'm tempted to put a little something on a draw. But with Jack being a "slow starter" and Pascal being a "round stealer" (in his prime at least), who know what will happen...
