Bottom line is that Floyd & Nelo would've never been in a completely fair fight because no matter when it happened 1 of them would've always had an advantage over the other. I still give Floyd credit for taking the risk at the time because it was still a risk, but it still doesn't compare to the current version of canelo whos winning belts as high as 175,& there lies the problem a prime vs prime matchup would favor Canelo from physical attributes because despite both being the same height basically (nelos a bit shorter) floyd is all about speed ,agility, defense & timing which means he isn't at his best when hes forced to bulk up to compete with someone like nelo as he would've surely had to do if they could've somehow fought prime vs prime.
They are both great fighters who floyd schooled Literally but he also by his own accord had to hedge his bets by draining him a bit & the fact that he schooled him rather than destroyed him completely says it all. Floyd outtimed & outworked Canelo who most definitely was looking drained because it slowed him down just the amount that allowed Mayweather to counter potshot him all night to perfection. If Canelo had been allowed to come in at 154 we would've likely seen a hell of a matchup but instead nelo looked lethargic like chavez jr always looks,if you look at punch stats it shows a lotLast edited by kushking; 12-27-2019, 05:03 PM.Comment

I don't believe none of that narrative. Before the fight it was, "Floyd would never fight Nelo." Then AFTER the fight, "It was the 2 pounds that did Nelo in."Bottom line is that Floyd & Nelo would've never been in a completely fair fight because no matter when it happened 1 of them would've always had an advantage over the other.
