  • Comments Thread For: Daniel Dubois: I See Myself Fighting For a World Title Real Soon

Daniel Dubois says he will not duck anyone when he gets his chance to box for a version of the world heavyweight title. The 22-year-old unbeaten Londoner faces Kyotaro Fujimoto at the Copper Box Arena in East London on Saturday. If Frank Warren, his promoter, has his way, by this time next year, Dubois will be world champion.

AJ would run like a giant rat to a decision. Wilder would smash him with a right hand. Hopefully Dubois will take fights that prepare him to beat the top HW's and not continue to cherry pick while hoping and praying for a lotto ticket like Usyk, Pulev, Miller.

I like Dubois, but his plan isn’t realistic. Firstly all 5 belts are currently with 2 men, they have at least a year worth of fights ahead of them, and several better placed opponents who’d be picked ahead of Dubois following this.

Dubois needs to play a longer game and in the meantime fight some opponents that a worth a damn. Joyce would be a good start, but at this stage anyone established and recognised would be a start. Gorman’s his best win so far, and Gorman is still really an unknown quantity.

Molina, Wach, Charles Martin, Helenius - someone at that 20 - 35 level in the world would be a worthwhile opponent for Dubois before he thinks about jumping in with the top ten.

Sadly he's with Warren which means he fights 17 or 18 bums then steps into the big league. Look what he did with Yarde - 18 nobodies then Kovalev. Dubois can definitely hurt anyone with his power. Frank has to do better for his fighters.

Dubois should change his management team. He can never contend for a world title with TR.

Yep - that’s my big fear for Dubois. He’ll fight nothing but bums, then be thrown in with one of the top 5 and get wiped out.

Dubois should sign with Hearn. His career is going nowhere. Dubois is still fighting bums. After Gorman he should have been stepped up faster.

Both Ajagba and Dubois need to slowly build up. It would be nice if they fought someone in the lower ranking group. Following come to mind:
                • Joe Joyce
                • Dominic Breazeale
                • Gerald Washington
                • Charles Martin
                • Chris Arreola
                • Agit Kabayel
                • Otto Walin
                • Arthur Spzilka

If they can go through a couple of these, then is the time to step up in the 10-15 rakings and then top 10. Nobody's going to present them with a title shot on a plate unless they come big names (financially). So, they'll have to plan their fights and somehow get the mandatory spot.

I agree 100% and Joyce already called him out.. but He ducked Joyce! I hate when journeyman want to skip to the top without fighting everyone on their way to the top.. Lost of Lions in the division he could make his name off of.. But the want the championship fights.. Without the proper fights that put the division on notice of ur arrival.. Those fighters at the top paid their dues.. Got lots of wear and tear along the way.. But these youngins want to skip the line without paying any dues! Smh
