Comments Thread For: Billy Joe Saunders Wants Canelo Alvarez or Callum Smith Next

WBO super middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders is looking to secure one of two fights in 2020. He wants to get his hands on WBA super middleweight champion Callum Smith, or Mexican superstar Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, who owns the WBA's "regular" title at 168-pounds.

Saunders is active and way better than clenelos last three opponents. Jacobs didn't want to fight and the walking punching bags Fielding and Kovalev were an pathetic scam. 🥊

Saunders hasn't done anything in 2 yrs since beating Lemuiex, admitted after his last fight that he didn't deserve a Canelo fight based on his poor performance. Why is this guy even an option?

... in fact, BJS did nothing since he fought Andy Lee, back in 2015...

saunders himself said he didn't deserve a canelo fight after his pathetic performance in his last outing. what changed since? jacobs beats him. and fielding, kovalev were no scam. its just what happens when u face arguably the greatest counter puncher ever. you freeze up. ask triple g who stopped saying "mexican style" after facing canelo.

He went viral though! (Not really, it's not as though "the video" made any headway beyond boxing circles, at least outside Britain)

I got a good joke for you guys!

Watch BJS vs Shefat and ask yourself or visualize what Canelo would do instead. Day and Night is finally used correctly.

After Saunders and Smith's last performances, I would say quite a number of boxers would love to fight them. As for Smith, he got a gift decision against John Ryder.

Saunders fan but I would be about 55/45 in favor of Canelo to win the fight, a decision is a formality. I think Saunders would be a nightmare for him if he is on decent form, Smith would also give him trouble.
