Could Andy Ruiz had beaten AJ again if he dedicated himself to training?

Or would the outcome have still been the same?

Same outcome, once Joshua decided to drop some muscle and box, it was a wrap. Ruiz has slow feet. Catching up to Joshua would have been a problem regardless.

Andy had his chances. He lost those chances and unfortunately will probably will not get the third fight. I do still believe with a more strict training regime and a real tough camp anyone can do what they sought out to. Andy has the feet but does not utilize it in the ring and relies on hand speed and power. I still believe Ruiz has the chance and change the outcome.

I saw yea, but he needs to learn to handle clinches better, Andy loves to place his forearm and sneak the big right behind it but the way AJ was clinching it took that completly away.

Impossible to know and one can only guess. If he was a dedicated trainer he would only weigh about 220 pounds and have a 35 inch waistline. He would not weigh 265 to 285 pounds with a giant stomach hanging out over his trunks like a balloon that must measure 45 or 50 inches. He has never been even close to a good fighting weight his entire career but he still has done well. A lean well trained 220 pound Ruiz might be too fast for even the new improved AJ but he has been fighting fat as a pig his entire career and no doubt will continue to fight 40 or 50 pounds above his best fighting weight. Some guys just love to eat. He was probably a fat kid and will probably be fat his whole life. No offense meant to him. He seems like a good guy and a game boxer. I am just giving you my honest opinion to your question.

^^^this. Add in the huge reach and height disadvantage. Nothing he could have done

if they fight 10 more times Andy looses 10 more times. I told you it was a fluke.
