Does everyone have a twitter & Instagram account here or something? Who cares. Those platforms are for certain types of women, and busy bodies.

If I was managing a top boxer, I would purposely take them off all forms of social media 'Accept maybe youtube'

Note: There are plenty of celebrities that do not use social media, Scarlett Johansson for example. You tube for athletes is probably the best platform.

No man, you want to make sure they have a social media presence, cos that ish translates into $$$s you just don't want the fighter himself to actually be in control of it. Yes, because it is a massive distraction, but mainly because a lot of fighters are hot headed, prideful, young dudes who ain't figured out how to engage their brain before they say or type some shit that could derail their career.

Way to do it is pay someone to run their social media accounts for 'em. Just better be someone you trust.

I am stating that, it is not a necessary for somebody in the public eye to have a social media account.

Can Deontay Wilder fight? Yes, so why do you care about how many twitter followers he has? That is the most B*tchboy statement made on this thread, and YOU made it.

Yes I understand all of that, just believe their are other-ways to promote athletes and better platforms.

Not wasting much more effort in the thread.

Thats an old line of thinking.

Scarlett Johansen is an actor and the movie is promoted first, not her. She’s a frickin Avenger man. Shes already really famous also and even then, people arent watching most her movies for her. There’s usually a bigger actor involved

Wilder needs to promote himself because people need to know HE is the one fighting. It’s much different. Youtube is good IF you already have a large following. He wont get it on his own at this stage. He needs to promote that YouTube channel as well. It takes guys years and years of non stop content to develop a massive youtube following. And even then it’d have to catch on with fans.

Wilder is developing a bigger fanbase now but he’s not naturally charismatic in the sense that he doesnt have that x factor that just makes people want to watch him for whatever reason (like Canelo has for example).

He’s got to promote everywhere and beat everyone that other people want to see as well.

For example, that “to this DAY” was a good hit on social media. If he had tons more self promotion and that kind of presence in social media and was constantly providing gold snippets/soundbites/memes everything else kind of falls into place.

Its not enough to *just * make training videos on youtube for your current fans. You want new fans as well and even haters.

Wilder should be more famous by now but I’m glad he’s starting to really make noise

Exactly. At the end of the day, they got to find a way to put asses in seats and eyes on screens. I dont follow a lotnof athletes or keep up with anything outside my feed on social media but it’s still pretty cool to see them post stuff sometimes.
