I met up with Aaron Pryor Jr at the David Tua fight last week.
Ryan ********: What are your thoughts on the performance of your stablemate Jonathon Banks?
Aaron Pryor Jr.: I was very impressed with his performance because he showed heart and it takes a lot of heart to get up from something like that. And its our training, we train hard down there at the KRONK and you got to be well conditioned to be able to take a punch like that and get up from it. I was very impressed with him.
AS: How did you feel after the first round in which Banks went down twice and managed to survive?
AP: I was nervous, but I knew once he got up and cleared his head that he would do his thing. I predicted him to get him out of there in six.
AS: The Hammerstein Ballroom charges $3 for a soda. Is that absurd?
AP: Yeah, that is very absurd. Especially a soda of this size. (Laughs)
AS: Do you think they should use less ice, and do you think the amount of ice is just a ploy to save soda?
AP: Yeah, they should use very little ice because they serve the soda in these itty, bitty cups. (Laughs)
AS: How about the hotdogs, have you tried the hotdogs?
AP: No, I haven稚 tried the hotdogs. Someone told me I need to get a hotdog while I知 in New York from a hotdog stand.
AS: Not from here, you got to go across the street from the Garden to the little hotdog stand there. I don稚 know, he told me he re-uses the same water every day, but he said it makes the hotdogs taste better.
AS: How does the soda compare to Detroit?
AP: It tastes the same. (Laughs)
AS: How are you enjoying New York?
AP: I知 having a ball. I知 really look forward to coming back.
AS: When are you going to be back?
AP: Hopefully soon, hopefully I値l be fighting next time here. You never know.
AS: Next time you come, can you tell them that the drinks are too expensive?
AP: (Laughs) I値l make sure to do that before I even come.
