He was not being racist, he was being sectarian. As an explanation Scotland like Ireland has a big sectarian issue between catholics and protestants, and protestants are called orangemen as they have an order called the orange order. It's more a case of sectarianism/hate speech than racism and I guarantee there was much more colourful insults being flung about before and after around there by people who aren't a pro boxer so get no attention for it.
