Gamboa (at this stage of his career) is seen as a good step up opponent for Tank. Yet, in other threads, I read poster's comments that he deserves a Loma fight at 135 ahead of Haney. I'm sorry but that doesn't make much sense.

gamboa is a good opponent...decent enough and his name is known in the boxing world and even to some "casuals"
if loma and tank both win out in 2020 and tank doesn't fight loma in 2021 I will call him a ducker...till then tank is free to be a 25 year old ...because there aren't many in the game who are doing as well as he is by that age...only canelo
Davis either builds up or steps up. This halfway nonsense boring as hell.Comment

but im not 100 percent sure lopez/loma is a done deal.....watching saturday night i saw arum walk and talk to lopez after the fight before lopez was interviewed...when they did talk to lopez he said something about how he thought loma was going down in weight so he wasnt sure......so im not 100 percent sold just because ESPN put up some graphic....Comment

For GOD's sake...Gamboa IS 38 and this jacka$$ is calling it a step up fight???
I wonder how tank will feel when he looks back at the first half of his career and realizes he so needlessly wasted the most precious commodity in the world-time.Comment

We've discussed this before, but just to reiterate, it's not about Floyd, race, or hate (at least for me). The guy's been a title holder for a few years, and I realize that's not as notable as when there were one/two belts per division, but dang, he gotta step up and do what champs do: defend a title against the stiffest challengers. Otherwise, as far as the sport is concerned, what's the frickin' point? I don't care about his money or at what age he's making all that green, and even less so about comparing his financial status with other athletes at any age. I just want him to actually create a legacy for himself through blockbuster fights because that's good for the fans too; these weak sauce, PBC showcase infomercials aren't cutting it.Comment
