    Jarret Hurd is back Jan.25th

Former IBF/WBA junior middleweight champion Jarrett Hurd (23-1, 16 KOs) will be squaring off against the capable journeyman Francisco Santana (25-7-1, 12 KOs) next month on January 25 in the co-feature bout on the Danny Garcia vs. Ivan Redkach card on Showtime.

Saw this. Damn shame with all the 154lbers PBC has that this is the fight they make for Hurd. I get he is coming off a tough loss but I expected a better quality name.

Former world champ fighting a top 50.. not ideal. It is a comeback, but not an explosive one. Let's see him steamroll this fight then come back to get that Jrock rematch.

Hurd is done. One dimensional guys like him are finished at the top once they are exposed.

I was kinda thinking he needed this. While I'd like to see him take a better opponent, his management is probably thinking that two losses in a row might destroy him.

He's returning at Super Welterweight!? I was almost sure he moved up to 160. Dude, if you can't make the weight, move up. If you feel you aren't skilled enough to compete at 160, hang em up.

I'm wondering if he just wants another crack at the titles before he moves up permanently.

Technically it's going to be at a CW of 156, but yeah I don't know why he doesn't go to 160 already. Can't imagine how hard it is for him to make 154 being as big as he is. Surely he won't be able to go to 154 after this fight, nor will he want to, when he sees the possible benefits of not cutting as much.
