If Saudi Arabia are putting this kind of money into boxing, then USA and UK simply can’t compete, which was the case with the AJ v Ruiz rematch.

It’s bad news for fans that want to go to fights and big events, but the money men involved and the fighters are just not going to turn down that kind of money.

Understandable from their point of view. Just not great for the fans.

Didn’t AJ said he didn’t want to fight Wilder in USA because they worked so hard to build boxing in the UK and they wanted the biggest event in the UK? - well obviously that was an excuse because he has no problem going against that sentiment or that Saudi money.
It's bad news for DAZN getting a bigger foot in the door in the US. Saves them money I suppose doe.

Definitely a sh^t replacement for fans with Vegas. Can't do sh^t there except watch the fight. They need to make an Amsterdam of Saudi Arabia with some debauchery & drinking & ******** & *****.

I imagine they could put up enough money to make all parties happy.

If it happens, i’d imagine they will bid to stage it and be able to put more money up than the UK and USA and then he will.

He clearly prioritised the money over the fans with the Ruiz rematch, so he will v Wilder or whoever else. I don’t blame him, just saying that’s how things will be. The saudi offer come in at the very last minute, and they just dropped all plans to fight in Cardiff immediately, it was pretty much done and ready to announce. That’s how substantial the money was.

As long as the Saudi’s keep their interesting in hosting these events, then people will have to get used to the fact that’s where a lot of big boxing events are going to be.

...... (even though its the biggest roadblock to getting fights made).

Yeah you would think us discussing money means that's all we care about. I hate when they come back at you with the "Why do you care about another man's money" BS.

Like duh!!! That is how fights gets made for the fans to see/watch.

I would personally love to see bigger boxing match ups around the world, it should NOT be restricted to UK/Germany or America.

The world is a massive place to take some of these match ups and if it meant the boxers getting more money then why not?

Arum did it a few years ago with Macau, would be nice to see events like that in other asian countries, south america, africa etc.

Of course they could, not only them though. Other countries can do also too. More power to them.

Any fans that think a boxer is there for them surely have to be ******s. They are there to make the biggest money. "He prioritised money in the Ruiz fight" And?

He also said he wants the Ruiz fight in the UK, he was dogged for saying that too, Ruiz refused the UK and they got a massive offer to do it in a neutral place (Saudi was born).

You have boxer who would rather put their fights on PPV and charge their fans 75 dollars a fight, rather than sign for an app where they get guaranteed money plus their fans paying wayyyyy less to see them fight.

So you cannot sit there and talk about how Joshua prioritised money over his fans....They all do. None of them care about their fans.

Of course they prioritise money, i said i can’t blame him or anyone else. I’m saying the same as you.

I’m just saying fans need to get used to AJ and others fighting in Saudi, if Saudi want it. I’m not maligning AJ at all, i’d do the same.

I’m saying fans need to stop being angry about it, because it is what it is. It’s all business.

My point was fighters shouldn’t even say they want their fight in front of their home fans because it means a lot etc.., when clearly that’s not really any kind of priority when money is involved.

It’s still bad news for fans that like to go to the fights, but i don’t think any of the people involved care about that when they go to bed at night, and neither would i, in their position.

If anyone can make Wilder/joshua happen it's the Saudis. I don't see why the winner of Wilder/Fury (it will be Wilder) can't fight Joshua in their next fight. The money will be there.
