I think we all saw that coming, Hearn has wanted that fight for a while. Must have been a sweet deal for Garcia since his career will virtually no nowhere at welterweight with Hearn....to be honest it was going nowhere with PBC once he got a one sided drubbing from spence. Mikey appears to be in cash out mode. Not a bad idea considering his foray into welterweight was as the Tommies found out at Arnhem....”a bridge too far”

Mikey is just a true business man. Nothing wrong with that. I wouldn't call this a cash out move. He's making the best move for his career, money wise. And he still plans on getting the Pacquiao fight later in 2020. Once he realized that Pacquiao was likely going the DSG route for April, he made this move. And really, what else was he going to get at PBC in the mean time? I guess a Thurman fight would be big, but both are coming off losses and doubt they would have made that fight next? Porter? No way does Mikey fight him after getting dominated by Spence. The only fights that made sense for him were DSG and Pacquiao....And instead it looks like those two will be facing off in April. Spence getting in a car wreck kind of ruined Mikey's plans of getting Pacquiao. Instead that went to DSG.

Agreed. 135 is probably too much to ask at this point but I definitely think Mikey is better-suited for 140 than 147.

Garcia vs Vargas.

Just because I like it more doesn't mean it's not a meh fight. One is a trash stay busy fight, the other is a meh fight. And one fight will cost damn near 10M to be put on, if Mikey is truly expected to make 7M for this fight....Which I don't see why he wouldn't?

It’s a good but not great fight. The biggest difference is Jessie is a 3 time champion and Redkach is Redkach.

Mikey vs Pac is definitely the end goal.

I don't think anyone will disagree this is a better fight than DSG/Redkach, but you can't just compare fights trying to big one up. There is no need to overrate Mikey/Vargas. It's an okay fight. Which is fine, since Mikey got dominated by Spence and needs a win at WW to get back in the Pacman sweepstakes. And who can knock him for getting 7M for this type of opponent? He was guaranteed 8.5M vs Spence so essentially he is in the neighborhood of that against a much lesser opponent.

I prefer the Mikey Garcia vs. Jessie Vargas matchup because I see it as 65-35 in Mikey's favor. I see Garcia-Redkach as more like 90-10 for Danny.

I thought both were in the running for the Manny lottery and that the fight would take place in May?!

That's assuming Manny elects to fight in May. Everything depends on his legislative schedule as a senator. Either way, that just gives both Garcia's more incentive to win impressively and hopefully without taking too much punishment in the process.
