Comments Thread For: Tyson Fury In Process Of Replacing Trainer Ben Davison

I’ve no doubt Fury can probably **** when he sits down on his shots i.e doing pad’s with Roach, but that was an outrageous claim by Freddie.
I don’t think him and Fury would be a good fit at all.
Dominic Ingle seems likely. He already trains Saunders, location wise it’s not that far from where Fury already trains and the Ingle gym usually produces fighters that use movement etc. He’s also spent time in the gym in the past.
Seems a natural fitComment

I think the reason Fury hired him in the first place was that he needed someone that's more of a friend and less of a disiplinarian during that difficult part of his career and it worked till now. I know Fury isn't the type of fighter that actually needs a trainer for technical things, and I think he thinks he has mentally fully recovered from the coke/food binge and that he doesn't need to be paying Ben 10% for mental support.
These sudden unexpected trainer changes are mostly due to money and I'm pretty sure that's the case here too. Ben shouldn't accept getting lowballed and should keep going with other fighters and try to ride that wave and build his own stable since I think he's a good boxing mind. He should have the attitude of wanting to learn first and then teach since he's still too young. I see a lot of potential in him as a trainer.
With or without a trainer, Tyson knows what he should do and I don't think this makes a difference. However this unexpected sudden decision could also be a sign that Tyson is starting to break down mentally again and coincidentally (or not) right before a rematch just like before the Klitschko rematch. If that's the case then Tyson's career is probably already over. The next couple of weeks will be very interesting.Comment

Roach also said he feels Fury is a bigger puncher than Wilder haha.
