      Promoters
      Too many paper titles
$$ ruining fights that should've happened.
Mike Tyson...cuz after him, the casual boxing fan only wanted to see knockouts and had no appreciation and patience for a good 12 rounder.

oh yeah, PPV...cuz now they'll put any fight on PPV.

You know I never considered that Mike Tyson actually helped boxing's downfall, but kingtriton has a point. Even on these boards I see people obsessing about KO's all the time, and constantly showing litte or no respect for a good 12 round fight. Now don't get me wrong I love action, but there is a difference between action and KO's. A lot of Tyson's fights were not exciting imo even though they ended in spectacular fashion. Give me a war that goes to the cards any day over the KO.

Unless the KO is like a Leonard-Hearns deal that comes toward the end of a great fight.

The way boxing was set up, period. It led to everything else that is wrong with the sport. There is no central nervous system of boxing. No NBA, no MLB, etc. The sport looks to federal and state funding for boxing commissions, ie taxpayers. I'm sorry but taxpayers should not have to pay for a sport to have a commission, state or national.

Get a single company, you eliminate promoters and sanctioning bodies in one swipe. Fights have trouble getting made now. If there were a single company that all fighters belonged to, the company would simply schedule the fights. If the champs didn't fight the challengers, they would be stripped, that simple. Ducking wouldn't be possible or even considered. You wouldn't need a national commission because the company could have its own strict procedures. You wouldn't have this thing where if a fighter is banned in Nevada no problem run off to another state or abroad and fight. This company wouldn't allow that because it would be an international company.

An organization/structure in boxing like this not being created is the worst thing that happened to boxing.

mcclellon and all deaths and brain damage victums, not like bowe and holyfield and frazier there just punch drunk and can still live and love life. also alis prime and tysons prime bein taken, i believe tyson was innocent. also racism back pre 1960 many great black fighters were robbed time after time, and now we dont even know who some of theese great fighters were. also early 1900s black fighters like joe gans who might be the best ever had his life threatened and had to intentenially loose fights. archie moore was the best fighter in the world for 10 years and never got a title shot. Larry holmes getting robbed in the spinks fight so he wouldnt beat marcianos record.
