Which organization has the most top fighters in each division?

Just looked through the TBRB ratings to see which belts were held by the top fighter in each division according to TBRB.

The disparity was far wider than I expected.

Out of the 17 divisions, the top fighter in 12 of the divisions is a WBC champion. 5 are WBA champions. 3 are IBF champions and only 2 are WBO champions.

The WBA is the only organization that does that.

Look at the current ratings of each of the four major organizations.

The WBA has 44 champions listed, the WBC has 19, the IBF has 17 and the WBO had 18. That's counting world, super, interim, gold, diamond and franchise.

how can there be 17 divisions, and 22 champions ?

              try again, without the gymnastics

the WBC have 5 champions who are the best in their respective divisions

              5... NOT 12

NOTE: the top 6 P4P fighters in the world (ranked by The Ring) are NOT WBC champions... so yea, that fact makes your point a REAL hard sell

stats are like a bikini... they give you a rough idea whats going on, but they hide the good stuff

                this is so simple...

                I expect 100%

FACT: none of the ABC organisations are definitive
FACT: none of the ABC organisations are even close

the WBC may have the best pool of fighters... although, that is starting to look highly unlikely when you examine the real facts... but if they are not definitive, or even close, then they are just another ABC body peddling their wares... so what if one is slightly better than the others, when NONE of them are definitive?

no idea why you need everyone to view the WBC above anyone else?

when they deserve it... I will agree with you

if there is nothing to distinguish the WBC from the crowd... other than a slightly longer history, and possibly 1-2 better fighters (again, which I doubt)... then there is not enough reason to value them at the expense of the other bodies

                they are all excess baggage

Nobody said there were 22 champions. 17 champions can hold 22 titles if some of them are unified champions.

I'm not going to argue your inexperienced uneducated amateur opinion. I've shown you that according to the world's leading experts, the top fighter in 12 of 17 divisions is a WBC champion, while only 2 of 17 are WBO champions. I'm not going to argue my opinion or your opinion. Obviously you're going to think your opinion is the best. I've taken all bias out of it.

I have no idea what that means

FACT: there are only 17 divisions
FACT: there is only one... " best "... in each division
FACT: according to your original post, you need to name 12 divisions where the WBC champ is the top guy

                    go...

No gymnastics. I listed which organization's title is held by the top fighter in each division according to TBRB.

name the divisions where the WBC champ is the top guy

there are only 17 divisions... so, somehow coming up with 22 champions is... gymnastics

                    that's fine... NAME THEM...

the only WBC champs are... Menayothin, Estrada, Berchelt, Spence, Beterbiev

                    five, not twelve

there are others who could be... but some of the 5 above, may not be

here is the point you missed...

                    Q. are the WBC definitive... ?

                    Q. are they anything even remotely close to 100%... ?

then, there is nothing to see here... the WBC could have the best guy ranked #1... or, they may not have the best guy ranked #1

who cares... because anything less than 100% will raise questions

not having the top 6 P4P fighters in the world will provide answers

this is how this thread will end...

with me asking you why the WBC do not award a #1 ranking to the guys who are the best in their respective divisions... individually... one post for each of them ... then, I will start on the P4P fighters and do the same

                    that will be really uncomfortable

all I am saying is... the WBC are not definitive, so the only way you could get me - or anybody else realistically - to agree that the WBC have somehow elevated themselves above anyone else... is if you first convince us to lower our standards and accept MUCH less than 100%... and yea, I will not be doing that today, tomorrow, or any other day

it is easier to simply laugh at ineptitude, than it is to lower my standards

btw, just a heads up... we will be starting our debate with Inoue

who the hell is Nordine Oubaali ?
