Comments Thread For: Hearn: Many Options, But Joshua Wants To Box Back in UK

Anthony Joshua is targeting a homecoming fight at Tottenham Hotspur's new 60,000-capacity stadium. The 30-year-old boxed Mexico's Andy Ruiz Jr. in Saudi Arabia, regaining the WBA Super, IBF, IBO and WBO heavyweight crowns. Joshua was dealt a crushing blow to his status as the number one worldwide boxing star back in June when, at Madison Square Garden in New York, he was dropped four times before being stopped by The Destroyer'.

Team Joshua were really dumb, they have learnt their lessons doe. They should do what Americans do when they are the cash cow. Stay in their country and let challengers come and meet them there. Don’t go chasing peasants/parasites.

If they do what you say...Joshua would remain a British fighter not an international phenom. Nobody, except diehards like us, pay any attention to what goes on in the British Boxing scene, but most people follow the US scene and fighters. To become international, he has to come to America a few more times. It's like Bollywood...the top actors are known by 1B Indians but are still not a popular as Brad Pitt who never made a bolly film.

He just fought in Saudi Arabia, that’s pretty international as you get. That come to America to make it is a myth. America is just a country not the globe.

Joshua can fight in Nigeria, Japan and many other countries, and guess what? His opponents can be me and you. He doesn’t really need anyone.

He doesn’t have any one close to Mayweather at HW who is American, that could elevate him more than he is right now.

Keep that boy safe over in England or Saudi Arabia, Eddie.

We know what happens when he sets foot in the mean streets of the USA.

Well, then its settled. As far as the U.S. goes, AJ will forever be known only as that giant black body builder guy who got KO'd by that fat Chicano dude.

AJ will never get the respect of being the true HW champ of the world until he faces and beats Wilder.

AJ said he loved N.Y. just recently. Now Hearn makes him look like a fibber. They act like Mutt and Jeff. AJ says one thing then Hearn says something else. AJ will do as Hearn says without complaining, he knows he needs the protection more than ever.

Unless Wilder is even dumber than he presents in interviews, and let’s face it, that’s dumb enough, why on earth would he insist the biggest boxing match up in over a decade is in the US and get paid much less?

It’s guaranteed to do over 1.5m buys on UK PPV, it would very likely be the the most lucrative gate in the history of boxing, DAZN will sell a bundle of subscriptions...thats all cash in his pocket. Better still would be back in Saudi where they’d probably get a $100m hosting fee before they sold a hot dog.

This is a business and you are talking about probably the richest fight in history, it would never be in NY and I don’t even think Vegas could touch it this time because DAZN has changed the game.
