I can agree with the OP, even hardcore boxing fans are not watching these showcase cards anymore. We are losing interested perfect example you got Danny Garcia vs Ivan Reckbach as a FOX main event haha that’s terrible. Wilder-Joshua hands down is the best HW fight we’ll get in the last 15 years and it’s not going to happen anytime soon. Hey I’m all for Joshua-Puleav and Wilder-Fury early 2020 but after that how about we get Joshua-Wilder so much noise for the sport of boxing can benefit. Make the fights

I blame the networks for not putting their foot down and tell these promoters and managers if you don’t give us the content we want go to showtime or other abysmal network.

UFC is under one umbrella so it’s easy to make the best fight the best but those guys make peanuts and get treated like a object.

UFC fighters don’t have as much to lose. They take an L and Dana White keeps paying them the same peanuts they already make. Outside of a Mcgregor or Rousey they don’t have much say in their purse.
A top boxer stands to lose tens of millions of dollars and promoters more than that. That’s why promoters want to control the promotion.
It does hurt the sport but only Dana White and his investors are breaking the bank in UFC.

I love that undefeated records are scarce in the UFC. If top boxers only fought top boxers, there would be few, if any, undefeated records. Would Floyd have retired undefeated? Maybe, but it’s unlikely. For one, he would’ve had to fight Pacquiao years ago. Anyway, I’m not trying to make this about Floyd or any other boxer. I simply believe that if you fight top opposition long enough, you’re almost certain to take a loss.

BUT, fighters from both cross over and fight on other promotions.

I’m a fan of Terence but I’ll catch his on the replay.
That UFC 245 card gonna be fireworks.

UFC is just more action packed, it’ll always be more exciting then boxing from now on.
Only 3-5 rounds instead of 12, more consistent elite match making. And the stars are becoming bigger also.

People like to watch combat sports for the KO’s and the action. Not everybody is a fan of the jab, run and clinch style some boxers focus on.

Not really because the UFC have the vast majority of top fighters in each weight class so much so that guys that get washed out of the UFC are able to revive or at least continue their careers in other promotions as top fighters. UFC have established themselves as the premier MMA promotional outfit.
