If the WBC is screwing Whyte, why did he take the interim belt?

I looked at the alphabet title rankings today and was surprised to see that Dillian Whyte was no longer ranked by the WBO.

I realized the reason is because he accepted the WBC interim title and therefore was removed by all sanctioning body rankings.

So my question is, if Dillian Whyte felt so abused by the WBC, why did he put his fate in their hands?

He was next in line for a WBO shot after Usyk as he was the WBO mandatory before Usyk moved up. He was also number two in the IBF at one point.

My feeling is he actually doesn’t feel like the WBC is out get him. We all know he turned down a final eliminator against Ortiz, as well as an IBF final eliminator against Pulev. I think he’s shaping his career the way he wants, is taking his time and knows he’ll eventually get a huge payday. I think he’s hiding behind this fabricated story about the WBC screwing him to create a boogeyman image.

If he really felt like the wbc wasn’t going to give him a shot, he would keep his mandatory position along with his top 2 rankings in two of the other three organizations and never accept that interim belt.

He basically got to pick his own opponent to fight in WBC eliminator and got it upgraded to interim title

Oscar Rivas was the only eliminator he fought in his career and Rivas was ranked 13th I think by the WBC
