I don't know but that isn't how I see it. Baldomir cuts off the ring really well especially in the Gatti fight where Gatti was trying to move and box early on. He also cut off the ring for the 2nd half of the Judah fight when Zab was running to stay conscious. No he doesn't have great KO power, but Castillo is 135 pounds and Baldomir is 147 that is a significant difference. Baldomir may be slow, but he has NEVER been stopped. Castillo was stopped by Corrales so I would have to give the edge to Baldomir in terms of chin.
Twice. Was he faster before Judah? Did he put on better pressure before Judah? Did he cut off the ring better in the past? Who cares? I'm talking about the present. RIGHT NOW! He's an older fighter. He's not getting any better with age and right now he is slow as ****, doesn't have power (but seems heavy handed), and doesn't cut off the ring well. He is content following his opponent around. That is the biggest difference between he and Castillo. Castillo has you along the ropes, he will punish you and make it difficult to get out.
Baldomir had a nice run beating up on journeymen and getting a nice little win streak. He was able to win the undisputed title against one of the most inconsistent fighters of this generation. He built upon that by beating a blown up featherweight who is the most overrated fighter of this generation. I got news for you. He's not a great fighter. He's a solid fighter on a nice run. He is not in Castillo's class. This guy was totally getting dominated by an inexperienced prospect Joshua Clottey 6 years ago. 6 years later, Clottey is still considered a prospect. Before fighting Judah, who did he beat that makes you even think this guy had skills. I hardly recognize any of the guys he fought. Get outta here with that bull****...

So you acknowledge that you really don't know very much about him at all. Yeah he is slow, but you are wrong about his ability to cut off the ring. He kept Judah from running away for the 2nd half of the fight and he cut off Gatti well at the beginning of the fight when he was moving better. Nobody here is saying the man is Sugar Ray Leonard...simply give the man some credit. He beat Zab Judah who was the undisputed champion and that is that. Of course Judah is inconsistent and Gatti was not at his weight and was old. This isn't a thread dedicated in voting Baldomir into the HOF based on his last two fights. Look Floyd and Baldomir struggled early against Judah. Both obliterated Gatti and Baldomir is the champ. I don't think he is going to beat Floyd but I make him a live underdog. The only way Floyd can stop him is on a cut, and we have seen that Floyd doesn't like guys that constantly pressure you (ie. Castillo or Baldomir)

Compared to Castillo, Baldomir is exactly what I said he is. That is the whole point.
Against Judah, Baldomir was cutting off the ring when Judah had already quit. After Judah got caught, he threw in the towel. Baldomir was landing some in the early rounds, but Judah went wherever he pleased. Of course he's going to do what he wants to a guy who's really not trying. Against Gatti, I don't think he cut off the ring honestly. Gatti just decided at some points during the fight to trade with him rather than try to move away. This is different from what Castillo did to Floyd. Floyd was trying to get away and was trying to block what Castillo was throwing, unlike Gatti...
Because they both have a pressure style. HELLO... have you been reading these posts or just responding?
So a good pressure fighter will do just as well as an average pressure fighter against the same opponent? My point is Baldomir and Castillo are not in the same class. That's why you can't compare them. Just because Castillo was able to do some things, doesn't mean Baldomir will...
