Comments Thread For: Joshua Ready For Usyk: Let's Rock and Roll Then, No Problem!

Anthony Joshua says he will be back in the gym before Christmas after regaining his WBA, IBO, WBO and IBF heavyweight titles by a wide unanimous points decision over Andy Ruiz Jr in Saudi Arabia. Joshua said he would only take a short holiday before going back into training, hinting that he had neglected his craft in favour of commercial activities ahead of his loss to Ruiz in June.

From a 38 old journeyman to elite heavyweight is a huge step. Usyk should fight Chisora first to get comfortable in division.

Is it just me, or Joshua vs Usyk may very well turn into a snoozefest?

Matchroom have two mandatories up next at the same time...one with the IBF and the other with WBO. From a business move standpoint, they are probably going to drop the WBO belt because they promote the challenger Usyk and it's an easier fight to make down the round.

The IBF challenger is Pulev, who's promoted by Top Rank, is the route that they will probably go.

Be a true champ and get the mandatories out the way and then face Ruiz again in NY. If Ruiz can avenge the loss then Wilder can face Ruiz instead of Joshua . I’m losing my patience with Boxing’s BS. Too many platforms, apps, & PPV.

              Yep.....

              Joshua-Pulev
              Usyk-Parker
              Joshua-Usyk

Three events for Matchroom and it stays inhouse. It's a no brainer business wise.

Well with those mandatories we can forget about a Joshua vs Wilder or Fury until 2021. Atleast Joshua vs Usyk is a good fight. Actually not too sure if Usyks handlers wants him in there with a top heavyweight so soon.

Usyk has no future in the division. He should cash out as soon as possible.

Willing to bet Wilder will have NO problem fighting Ruiz with or WITHOUT a belt.

The real question will be whether Ruiz and his team will be willing to take the fight.

Its one thing walking AJ down.
Its a WHOLE different experience trying the same thing with Wilder.
