Contract or not, AJ was not prepared. He didn’t deserve a rematch.

The best version of Ruiz would simply be too slow of foot and too short to get to the stick and move AJ we saw yesterday- especially in that massive ring.

We can get angry all we want about his weight, but even if he came in at 250 his natural limitations wouldve kept him as an underdog to the taller, faster, stick and move fighter.
Perhaps, but having quick hands why would he not have quick feet if they only had to carry 240 lbs like AJ's do? In fact, the idiot was probably even more than 30 pounds overweight for the first fight so with 6 months of proper nutrition and training could have floated around the ring and punched harder at 235 lbs. Check his feet on the replay; his steps are about 6 in long. In order to let his hands go he has to get in range quickly without getting hit flush, rather than waddle in like a hippo as he did

      • I don't even think it was the money or cameras that got to him. Thry didn't help but from my understanding this is just him. When he was broke he didn't train hard, sounded like he would rather build houses with his father half the time.

Has to be quite a bit of potential there if he was into it 100% I don't think he will fight again and I know Hearn won't let him near AJ again unless he climbs up and earns it as mandatory. Oh well, **** like this happens in all sports all the time. Some could have it and just don't want it

What bothers me most is that he knew he wasnt ready, so at least go all out for a round or two and try and make something happened. He has a great double jab, he threw it about 5 times all fight. Joshua looked good though, his stamina held up and he fought smart.
Yes even though Ruiz came in heavy, he never really went for it in this fight which was weird. He should have gone all out to stop Joshua. But He just plodded on and didn't really try until the final round

                  • I don't think anyone feels sorry for him except maybe himself. Laziness is not an excuse.

I don't think we will see him around again for a while. He will count his money and continue to party like Charles Martin did. He will attempt to make a comeback when the well runs dry.
