Why do heavyweights even bother to weigh in then? My point is that there’s big money and also odds put on the fight. We like to measure a fighters weight and physique compared to their previous fights. This helps us form an opinion of how hard they trained, what condition they might be in, how serious they took it, how focused they are, based on precedent. This could effect odds making, or how someone might bet, or if they even want to buy the fight. Once a fighter is in the ring and taking his shirt off for the first time it’s kinda too late. They all tell you that they are in the best shape of their lives. If they wore full tracksuits, or even sombreros, accessories on the scale, u don’t get to analyze their physique or even get an accurate weight to measure against previous fights. I know this was a rare occurrence but it was also for the HW championship. If a fighter can hide under a shirt and hide his actual weight that’s bull***** if u ask me.
