he did refuse to fight pulev because he made 3 times more to fight parker. check what the purse bid was for pulev and what he made for parker. becoming mandatory in the ibf would have been nice but he was already #1 in the wbo and the shot would have been against the same guy, joshua. so why wouldn't he take more money? the wbo was also first in the upcoming mandatory list and since he was #1...it was more than likely going to be him.

i dont know why he turned the joshua rematch down. mind bobbling really.
That's my take on the events too, I thought Ortiz, perhaps in agreement with Wilder, did everything possible to mess Whyte around, including inviting him to fight on a PBC undercard for less money. Now I try to see things pretty objectively, this just seemed like the truth of it.
We shouldn't forget Wilder very clearly stated he would make Whyte wait for years for his shot. This of course came to pass, whether by coincidence or design, it's unfair either way.

As for the AJ fight, I honestly don't think Whyte thinks he can beat AJ and really fancies his chances against Wilder.

Such silly nonsense. No one is ducking this overrated grandpa. He wanted silly money when Whyte offered him a fight. But then Ortiz got intoxicated by Haymon's promise of a better life and signed him up right after the first Wilder fight. True to the cancer's promise, Ortiz then lined up bums after another.

Ortiz has become the Danny Garcia of the heavyweight division. Povetkin mentioned his name, Ortiz's camp didn't bother to respond. Everyone wants him. Why? Beating Ortiz would give you the hype you need and make you behave like you beat Mike Tyson. Look at Wilder.
