He can be criticized for not fighting Smith when he chose to fight Rocky Fielding but these aren't bad alternative options to Andrade or Golovkin.

Agree I’m the opposite of a Canelo fan for various reasons , I still think Smith is untested( He deserves Props for winning the WBSS but with he needs more then a W against a past prime injured ,almost always came up short Groves to prove his worth ) But Both are Prime , unbeaten strap holders and among the best at 168 and are worthy Opponets

Smith is a Prime , unbeaten STrap holder who won the WBSS and has many people believing he’s the best at 168

Smith has around a 6-8” Height & Reach advantage and has a style that may potentially Trouble Canelo

But if we’re being Honest , Right now Smith is more Sizzle then Steak his Resume is trash and while he might be I don’t think he’s Done enough In the Ring to be thought of as the clear cut #1 guy at 168

But it’d still be a good fight
