I don’t know about Ruiz anymore. His feet are just so slow. He could lose some flab but his feet are never gonna quicken up.
He only has a bit of punchers chance against AJ fighting like that. Catching him high if AJ exits in a straight line after throwing a shot.
Retrospectively I’d
be more inclined just to blame AJ for losing his shape and hooking inside with a hooker with short arms which ended with him getting smashed on the temple. I think I credited AJ with recovering from that shot at the time but he clearly didn’t. And Ruiz beat the s.hit out of him.
I always like the question who would you rather be in the fight? You’re never picking Ruiz are you. No matter if you think some of what he does is more nuanced. He was comprehensively outboxed by a man that would beat Ruiz at anything but eating.
