Then it's highly questionable to consider Showtime "free to air" when it's pay TV. Maybe you can spin it and say well some of it is free to air anyway.

And of course, the implication is that the *best fights* will be on free to air TV. Do you think that even *some* of the best fights are going to be free to air now? Or are *all* or largely all the biggest fights that fans really want to see likely going to be PPV? (Or perhaps pay TV with Showtime.)

Because if they aren't showing at least a good chunk of the best stuff free to air, then it's hardly accurate.
    Ok, let's break it down.

What is BS? Have they not had big fights on regular T.V? Porter-Thurman? Thurman-Garcia? Those are two that come to mind, and there certainly have been quite a few more.

When did they ever consider Showtime to be "free to air?" Now you're just making things up.

They have only had a handful of PPV's since their launch in 2015. The majority of them have come within this past year. You're telling me there hasn't been big fights from then to now? You sound ridiculous. They also never claimed that they were going to put every single big fight on free tv. You're just talking nonsense without facts.

You need to straighten out your facts before you make claims. To be fair though, when its so blatantly obvious you are making things up, it's hard to even attempt to back it up. So I don't blame you.

Australia's Billy Dib is just all about hype and nothing worth mentioning.

Thurman vs Garcia was a genuinely big fight at the time for sure, the kind of fight you would normally expect to be on HBO or Showtime if not PPV. And yes, they did it on free TV.

However, it's completely dishonest you would try to use this as an example, because that was at a stage when PBC first came along with a truckload of cash and were getting "time buy" slots on Network TV. That stage of their business model fizzled out.

Right now and going forward, do you think that they will be putting even a chunk of their best fights on free to air TV?

        From the quote I used:

"Premier Boxing Champions is broadcast live and free to air on SHOWTIME..."

Showtime was first on the list of channels they mentioned, and they described it as "free to air" broadcasts. I mean, I assume they do know that Showtime isn't really free to air, but they are implying it's more "free" than it really is. It's not difficult to word something as "broadcast across channels including premium cable and *also* free to air channels", but they failed to do that.

Right, and that's what we are talking about-- the situation today. How is their business model today. Everyone knows they *originally* made a bit of a splash by buying up slots on network TV.

You're telling me there hasn't been big fights from then to now?
If you think they are still now putting on (at least) a reasonable chunk of their best fights on free to air TV, then please make that case.

        You sound ridiculous.
Well you sound dishonest that you would try to use Thurman vs Garcia as an example, for what the PBC free product is like *now*!!

How can you sit there and judge a company that's been in the game for 5+ years solely off of what has happened in the past 11 months?

That is ridiculous bias and not an accurate analysis. You need to take things into consideration as a whole, from start to finish. How does your brain not process this?

Everything is erased in a few months... Also not taking into consideration the current landscape of boxing in general, the overall competition. They are a success which is what matters most, and ppv is not dead because of them even though everyone around them tried to convince people it was. That is the topic of this thread to begin with, and the main point.

          You're dismissed.

            Very funny.

The real question-- How can you use such a dishonest example as Thurman vs Garcia as an example of what the free product is like now?

I'm talking about the company changing. That means judging the past conduct against the present and expected future conduct.

Why is that too difficult for your brain to handle?

No one provides facts, its all agenda based.

This PROVES that PBC ppv's have been a success. But watch as no ome speaks on this.
AEW also got the same deal and their PPVs only sell 100k. This isn't proof of success, this is proof of InDemand scraping the bottom of the barrel after losing WWE, Canelo, and UFC.

Haymon is the only person in Boxing with an exclusive PPV deal.

Yes he in fact runs boxing. Point blank period.

Your morons realize Dazn only has 80k us subscribers that are Boxing subscribers right. Most subscribe for soccer, Dazn has been a major bust.

Even if you are really right, does that mean that ppv is dead as everyone claimed?

Is an exclusive ppv deal not a success? 3 PPV's this year which sold 300k on average is dead?

It's not an exclusive deal. Other promoters can still distribute fights through In Demand and PBC can still sell PPVs through the Fox Sports app and the ESPN app as will be the case with the Fury-Wilder fight. The deal just guarantees that PBC does at least 4 PPV events per year. What was the average buyrate the year before DAZN launched? PPV might not be dead but it's on life support.
