Comments Thread For: Bob Arum: Herring vs. Frampton Can Happen In Belfast

Carl Frampton will bid for history next year as he looks to become a three-weight world champion. The Northern Irishman was most recently in action just last weekend when he outpointed Tyler McCreary over 10 rounds at the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, exclusively live on ESPN+ Stateside and in the UK on BT Sport.

Where else is this going to happen? Herring isn't a big name in america and Carl would sell out anywhere in Belfast. Just take the fight where the money is, not like Herring is going to lose at that weight to this midget.

Herring should take Frampton to school easily and it sucks Herring isn’t a known name in USA!

The guy is a gentlemen, doesn’t do anything to put himself in the papers, Ducks nobody , has skills, has lost a couple times an now is a champ and is a former marine that served his country!

I said anywhere, but a pier in Belfast, and that's where it's headed. Jamel has never fought outside of America and Frampton is good enough to take advantage.

I know we don’t know the details but Frampton falling out with and suing the McGuigan’s just feels a bit sad. Timing is also awful with the personal tragedy that family has had to face.

It’s one of them. You’d hope they could have sorted this without anyone knowing about it

Fighting McCreary was good prep for Carl. Carl was given up like 10 inches in reach, he'll be giving away 8 against Herring despite Herring being a bit taller than McCreary. If Carl can get on the inside and land a few of those body shots that McCreary got hit with the Herring is gonna be in for a long night!

I reckon this fight is gonna be close but the home crowd edges it for Carl. I hope so at least!

I’m definitely open to taking the fight to Belfast because let’s be serious here, the crowd will come out and like some of you pointed out my name isn’t the biggest here in the states. I’m not like these diva world champions who complain about everything or fear leaving home. I’ll go where the fight makes sense at and who knows, maybe a victory here will propel my name, but I’m confident in winning this overall.
