What do you think about PED use in boxing ? Good idea or bad?

    1) If other fighters are doing it and getting away with it, why wouldnt you do the same so you dont get the disadvantage? It becomes almost fair and others are doing it

    2) No one cares if fighters get caught using, their legacy remains in tact, if they win they win and no 1 cares about how they only care if they win

    3) TRT etc could be used to allow fighters to go on longer and start later or just make the job easier without things getting out of hand with over juicing

    4) If lots of money is at stake why not cheat to get the money?

    5) Drugs dont make you fast like pacman or powerful like Nigel Benn, but they do help somewhat

I personally wouldnt because of the possible health side effects. But some people want to make the sacrifice

You could get one of your mates who is also a boxer to do it and then you could do it also, to make things fair again, because at least 1 other competitor is using

It seems to me that you are either fcuking them or being fcuked and there's no way around it.

Even Mike Tyson said he would

My opinion is they shouldn't regulate it at all. Do what you want. If the other guy doesn't do it, it's on him. It's a fight.

Truth is there’s no way to “regulate it.”

Everything is always about money. Sports is always about competitive prizes amongst athletes and their sponsors, including the govt. level.

People don’t realize that even Golf, Archery, and Auto Racers also have protocols for anti doping. What are the insecurities between competition in Golf if a fatso popped for something? Money!! There are plenty of banned substances that help for joints...or what about a Golfer with a history of asthma? A doctor can waive - TUE - justify the need for something. It’s just always complicated.

The NBA, NFL... surely most things are justified and the commission reviews it. An injury could be said and the athlete is given an opportunity handled by his team for what can be used when there really isn’t a serious injury, but the player must perform. This is why many fans even specify that “in boxing” PEDS are serious...

At the very least, because of all this dynamic nature from traces, types of substances, time of use, it’s all handled judicially and given a proper sentence. For example, if there are 4 year bans vs 6 months bans, it’s obvious the verdict is based on intent as well as by accident. How do compare Whyte vs Miller vs Canelo?

PEDS are too complicated in competitive sport. Boxers in the 80’s-2000 were in the Golden Era of PED use, specifically steroids. Contracts alone could protect a fighter with both teams acknowledging and agreeing to fines simply with cash. Nowadays boxers don’t have this luxury and the networks can no longer protect them as they did a decade ago. That’s just the truth.
