Comments Thread For: Berchelt Was Surprised at How Well Lopez Did With Valdez

Oscar Valdez's super featherweight debut was a doozy. Valdez (27-0, 21 KOs) got off the deck to stop late replacement Adam Lopez in seven rounds in a barnburner of a main event in front of a packed house at The Chelsea inside The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. Valdez was knocked down in the second round, only to come back to knock down Lopez (13-2) with a left hook in the seventh. A follow-up barrage caused referee Russell Mora to stop the bout with seven seconds remaining in the round.

The new Oscar Valdez got dropped and if whent the distance would have lost on my card. I blame the new and much poorer fighter Valdez, for the choice he made going with Reynoso. Reynoso doesn't offer s...! When Valdez realizes this I hope it aint too late!

Berchelt went to Herrings fight, then he ignored him. Now he wants a guy who looked easy to hit and smaller. Cherry season?

Yeah, I don't think Berchelt fears Herring. Herring's last fight wasn't all that impressive to me.

Happy for the guy that he won a title kinda late in life for a lower weight guy, but I just don't think he's that good.
