To sniff anywhere near a P4P list Wilder would need to beat 3/5 Top5 HWs, not win a rematch against a 40 year old. Wlad had ~20 defenses and still wasn't on most people P4P lists, and Wilder fights in an even weaker era and doesn't have the longevity.

      Article is laughable.

Hard to say because his record is pony

He beats the furious one he’s definitely has a claim to the number one spot

The next few years is gonna be fun if Joshua gets back in the mix

Enjoying hw boxing again which is the main thing

Wilder will NEVER win.......on these forums from the trolls....who have never won a bet against him winning if they have ever had the heart to bet against him.

He just needs to keep doing what he is doing ...separating opponents from their senses and making them look like bums.

Tell me, when has Wilder ever been battered silly by a complete bum opponent like Fury was against Warllin? People say Wilder has fought a lot of bums, but he's never been beat up like Fury was by one of them lmao.
If that was the case, why isn’t Wilder ranked universally no.1 at Heavyweight?

He's a HW... and I keep saying that because no HW has any business being ranked P4P. They're just not as skilled and the weight class just isn't as a deep as the other weight classes.

When you're ranking P4P, you're essentially grading on a curve and there are 4 main things to consider: Overall skill-set, depth of division, pedigree, consistency.

Wilder has certainly been consistent. That would score him marks in that category as he's defended his belt for almost 5 years and has 10+ defenses. He does have some pedigree, winning a Bronze but he also only has like 40 fights.

The other two categories he would struggle to score points in. Because HW is still one of the weaker divisions. When it comes to skill-set, it's not always pretty to watch.

It's one thing to lose rounds to Fury and Ortiz, who are solid, but you can't lose multiple rounds to fighters like Szpilka and Gerald Washington.

Those Bretzel, Stiverne, Washington guys are not killers by any means.

Ortiz is a cool win, but TBH, he has not beaten anyone decent and his living off winning rounds vs Wilder.

Joshua fought better guys in Ruiz, Parker, Whyte, Povetkin.
Don't get me wrong Joshua is not on P4P list. None HW are.

The only elite fighter that Wilder fought is Fury IMO and I didn't think Fury even was at his best, didn't think either that Wilder deserved a draw.

Wilder still has to prove things.

He's a TOP PUNCHER in boxing he has proven that X times.

But not a TOP P4P FIGHTER right now, let alone "for ages"
                ———-

In the current crop of HW’s plus the next unknown contenders, who do you think is an elite fighter or even decent as you put it?
What things or rather against whom should Wilder “prove”?

Your point is compelling only if measured against (historical) time but how do you fault Wilder for fighting in an era where talent at the HW tier is scarce?

Wilder is 34 and can fight another good 6 years. Two fights a year means 12 fights. Where do we dig up guys that Wilder can prove his mettle against?

I am just playing the devil’s advocate but I have no reason to question the path Wilder is paving for himself. He’s on a path to greatness if he keeps giving us highlight reels.

The fact that people hate on Wilder is a good thing.

Sh#tty boxer? Perhaps. Can’t argue with the results though. I show people who don’t follow boxing his highlights and they like what they see. I’ve gotten people to replay the KO of Breazeale I sent them on Snapchat!

                    Facts

Even though I like AJ, Fury, a lot more than Wilder.

After this year. He’s certified top 10 P4P.

Seems like ppl will always complain. “He lost to fury” which I think he did but still in the fight , KO’ed Breazeale “Breazeale not that good”, KOed Ortiz again “ he is old”.....

Give that annoying bombsquad yelling loud mouth his props.
