In the mid 1980's...not sure of the year, sorry...Ali walked up to Hank Caplan, who was smoking a cigarette, and pulled the cigarette out of his mouth and told him he didn't need to be smokiing. Ali then signed the cigarette and told Hank to hold onto it, that it would be worth a lot of money someday.....that cigarette sold a couple of years ago for $1,400.Comment

It took Joe Martin Sr. nearly 4 hours to convince Ali/Clay to get on the plane that was going to Rome for the 1960 Olympics....and Ali/Clay wore a parachute on the plane and spent much of the trip on the floor praying....he was that scared of Flying.
Ali/Clay was paid more in his first pro bout, when he had no management, against Tunney Hunsaker ($1000) than he was paid in his next fight under the Louisville sponsoring group.
Ali/Clay called Angelo Dundee in 1958 and told him he'd be the Olympic Gold medalist in 1960.....and after signing with Angelo as his trainer, he and Rudy rode down to Miami on a train.
