Comments Thread For: Eddie Hearn Talks Smith-Ryder, Scoring, Canelo, More

Promoter Eddie Hearn believes one of his two super middleweights from either Callum Smith (WBA champion) or Billy Joe Saunders (WBO champion) will face Canelo Alvarez in May 2020. Canelo himself holds the WBA Regular' title in the twelve stone division as well as the WBO Light Heavyweight title following his spectacular knockout of Sergey Kovalev.

Despite Canelo already being in negotiations with BJS right after Kovalev he will surely be called a cherrypicker if he fights a undefeated smw champ because on bizarro boxing scene its always"hes ducking the other guy"(talk about Irony that when ggg disappeared for 9 mos after Nelo sent him licking his wounds, his fans & pundits wrote it off as"he only broke g because he aged BenGGGamin Button by signing to fight him 1 yr 3 mos after winning lineal wbc title" ,then ggg turned down the may 5th date when offered before jacobs,& it was" ggg old doe, nelo cherrypicking old man" then when ggg suddenly reappeared & started saying he wants another rematch his stans started with"nelos ducking ggg to age him, younger, bigger, better Kovalev snr is a cherrypick to duck broken shell of himself kovie jr(ggg)".)

Fast forward til now,if nelo faces the same guy ggg stan reporters were saying this of:" nelo will duck smith, too big, strong prime" or BJS who they said hed duck for his slickness like Andrade.(all 3 would get schooled imho),& their excuse will become what its always been:"Nelo is ducking whoever he doesn't fight,& is only fighting the boogieman because he sees something in him"

It has gotten so pitiful at this pt that pretty soon there LITERALLY won't be any fighters left to turn into supposed boogieman who nelos ducking as haters have said about every single elite champion nelos beat from early on. (Nelos already considered the best in 2 divisions & 2nd at lhw,& only Beterbieve would raise his stock til haters say hes old)

The next champion nelo faces will make 6 fights in a row in 3 weight classes where he beat champions & only Fielding was ranked below #2 in the division when nelo fought him(still top 10 beltholder). (& Fieldings stock went up a tiny bit when Ryder was robbed by Smith even though hes rubbish still, nowhere near rolls rubbish")

"For me, you could never say that was a robbery but the scorecards were a robbery" Hearn said.

      WTF Eddie?

The scorecards determined the result of the fight!

So If the scorecards were a robbery, then the result must have been a robbery too!

Regardless of who you thought won the fight, there's no way in hell Ryder won only 3 rounds, 4 rounds at least, 8 rounds at most. The rounds Ryder won were more definitive than the rounds Smith won. I personally had it 7-5 Ryder but a draw or even one round to Smith would've been acceptable. Anything else is either bias, compromised or incompetent.
Bottom line is, Terry O' Connor needs to be relieved of his duties as a judge and ref. He is now a major problem in UK boxing.

If Smith was with Fish eyes and Hearn was only with Ryder, Hearn would be screaming and shouting at every and any opportunity at how this was the biggest robbery he has ever seen. the guy is a complete snake.

What good does this do, gifting Smith the victory? Set up a big payday? Doesn't do Smith any good where as if he recieved his deserved loss he can work on his mistakes to become better. The contraversy will keep Canelo away from wanting that fight. The integrity of the ref, judges and Hearn himself are all stained from this. So why, just because they can?Ryder won that fight hands down! Now the deception will do nobody any good. A loss can make a fighter better at times. In this case no one wins.. Btw. Hearn, It was a good fight but the dishonesty stole that from us all.

There is no satisfaction in winning that way but boxing is business unless your are 50-0 and you want to live with that. War!

Having open scoring doesn't solve the problem of bad judges.

In this example Ryder would have been told that he needed a knockout to win. Why should he be forced to change a strategy that was obviously working, just to accomodate inept or corrupt judges?
