Stop lying and mud slinging. Instead of screwing them over let their fighters take the big fights for the belts and money and i wouldnt have a problem with the PBC.
How are they trying to mess the sport over? and how are their defenders racist?

      FAKE NEWS title is mislead.

Top rank is not hermmonging money all it basically explains how taking fights outside of the U.S. only adds to the profits.

in the U.S. on average it cost arum $500K to make 200K profit.

Outta of the U.S. since these other country are so boxing hungry they will comp alot of the overhead AND pay a heft site fee where it makes more sense financially to take the fight to other countries.

"Top Rank’s chief financial officer has tracked event costs and found that — before fighter purses are paid — each of Top Rank’s 30 main stops for ESPN cards is resulting in a cost of $500,000 to $700,000 for talent, accommodations, travel, arena rent, publicity and other event needs. After looking at the live gates, “maybe, if we’re lucky, we average $200,000,” Arum said.

“But now you can go over overseas. And if they’re giving you $1.5 million or $2 million to do the event, that swings everything around from a negative because the fighters’ costs remain the same. When I go to China and get X (amount) and they comp all the rooms and the travel, instead of being upside down $500,000, I’m plus that and more.”
OP is debilitating creating misleading titles cause is an agenda ridden.

You got any detail on that, my man? Are we talking wasted or invested here?

Mmmm. Thanks for that. I actually thought it meant $200K before purses when I read the original article, but re-reading it does look like he means 200k average profit on the event.

It ain't huge I think, but it's a very long way from 'hemorrhaging money', especially given that large majority of the revenue for all the major promotions comes from broadcast and streaming rights.

Just MCC doing his thing again I guess.

Show us how Fox made a profit after give away
guarantees amounting to almost $30 million.
Man that's 2 episodes of Game of Throne's last season,
with an average of 34 million viewers.

                Thanks for the link, man.

Best I can find is some dude ranting about Bob saying they ain't got enough in the budget for Kell Brook to fight Bud. And I think that was in the last fiscal year. Is that what you're talking about?

Still not really seeing where that's hemorrhaging money either way though.. in fact quite the opposite. It suggests they know how much of their budget they have remaining and are working to remain within it. Have you got any figures for TRs year on year P&L. I think that's probably what you need to be looking at to be able to make an useful determination on their financial health.

Myself I don't care whether it's Bob or Eddie or Al who brings us boxing, and my interest is the health of the sport on a global level rather than in one particular country so as far as I'm concerned I got no problem at all with Bob making international fights, but I can see how your concern with the state of boxing in the US ain't really gonna be assuaged by this news.

I wonder if Bob Arum's advancing age is affecting his business acumen. Like Al Davis and how he ran the Raiders, in his earlier years he was pretty shrewd but as he grew older he started falling off pretty badly.

The PPV buys aren't in yet. Fox believed the fight would do 400,000 when they agreed to take on the risk. We'll find out soon if they were right.
