1. Yes. You obviously have to go out and win. But this goes for any fight.
2. No. You score the fight based on the required criteria, not based on who is the champion and who is the challenger. Once the fight starts they should be considered equal.
I wouldn't say it's untrue but it doesn't make it right, I think the crowd cheering every scuffed or close punch of the more popular fighter can sway judges somewhat so you probably do need to make it more obvious you're winning.
No and no. When the bell rings for round one there is no champion only two guys fighting to be champion. The rounds should be scored as they are with no extra credit or close rounds going to the champion. The round should go to whoever wins it no matter how close it is. Not long ago if a round was even the judges could score it even and that was good. Now judges must pick a winner of every round no matter if they think the round was dead even. This is bad and makes for bad score cards because judges will give all the rounds they would have called even to the boxer they like the most. You must take the title from the champ clearly is just some BS that some people say. There is absolutely nothing in the rules that says a championship fight should be scored any differently than any non title fight or that the champion wins all the close rounds. The only thing in the rules that benefits the champ is if the fight is a draw the champ keeps his title. That's it. There are no other rules that favor the champ in the scoring and rounds should be scored as they actually are. If the challenger wins by a single point he should become the champion.
