Haney is the real boogeyman of 135!

He’s gonna have to go to 140 and take over that division as he grows into his prime!

Errol Spence only got a title shot aginst brook because he was mandatory.

Jermaine Taylor got a title shot against hopkins because he was mandatory.

Shakur Stevenson just got a shot because he was mandatory.

Tyson fury got a shot at wlad because he was mandatory.

Without the mandatory so many guys would have never became champ.

Boxing has become so watered down with all this picking and choosing.
Mandatories have watered the sport down even more. Nobody needs to see Spence against Abdukakhorov, when there are better fighters in the division. Lomachenko vs. Davis is the biggest fight at lightweight. Theres's no need to waste time with sanctioning body BS.

Ha ha... I probably wouldn't go so far as to say Loma's ready for the knackers yard just yet, but it's fairly well understood that the smaller guys usually peak and decline earlier than the bigger guys (and even in the medial weighclasses 28 - 32 are generally recognised as 'prime' years). I've not seen the research to back it up but I'm guessing that it's something to do with reflexes declining quicker than strength... s'why the lunbering bohemoths at super heavy are often still close to prime in their late 30s - you just don't need catlike reflexes to see them big slow punches coming.

When you got a guy like Lomachenko who seems particularly reliant on his quickness - both physical and mental - I'm asking myself how long he can keep doing that wizard ish he does. My guess is he (or his old man) already looking at ways to adapt his style to something a little more orthodox and a little less reliant on the speed of youth, the question will be whether - or how well - he can pull it off.

Anyway, Mr. Dunn, I know you don't give Davis much of a chance against Loma. Mr. Larry X thinks similar to you. You are not sold on him. That's all cool. I'm not sold on many African American boxers, either. By the way, you are one of my favorite posters over the years, like Larry X (who's also not sold on Gervonta). I respect his opinion, too, after his Broner disaster!

I usually don't bet on anything, except buy a lottery ticket, or sometimes NSB points. But how about we bet some real money, not much? Just friendly amount. Maybe $100 or 200? Or points, all points, but matched. Bet is open all.

I'm sure both you and Larry have a lot of points to get rid of. I will also bet that Davis would be the favorite by the time it happens, anytime. Deal?

You can give me some odds if you like, like 5-1. That's just if you are sure Davis has no chance against Loma. I know you are big on Haney, but he's not polished enough for someone like Lomachenko, despite his God given dimensions, like reach and height. Haney is a puppy, he needs more seasoning. Get him Fortuna.

Davis is ready. Let's have this fight in May!

I don't often agree with Arum, but he's right. Tank is a titlist and nobody can say he's too young anymore.

Haney is unproven and too young. It would be another Canelo/Floyd, but with no financial upside to either. Give Haney a year or two to mature, Loma should still be in his prime, then make that fight when it means something.

Right now if they fight I will take Loma. I have nothing against Tank, I just don't think he can keep Loma from the inside. Loma getting inside neutralizes Tank's power.

I believe Loma is more skilled and you will see in most of these matchup discussions I almost always pick the fighter who has more skill to win.

When they announce the fight, I will make sure to reach out to you. I can always use a lil cash.

Why so angry man? Floyd seems to trigger you a lot?

I don't believe he's more skilled. Davis has many other weapons as well. Deal bro.
