In many countries, international medals even at youth level can give prize money, jobs, scholarships, etc. In many of those (not so rich) countries, documents and even a new passport can easily be bought.

In Luis Ortiz´ case he participated in his first senior Cuban Nationals in January 1998, 2 months shy of his 19th (official) birthday. In the 1999 Nationals, 2 months shy of his 20th birthday, he was stopped by Felix Savon.

Ortiz didn´t have any international career as a youth that I know of and he won his first National medal in 2002 (at almost 23 years), his first gold in 2006 (almost 27) so I find it hard to believe he would be five years older or more. It would mean he would have won his first National title at almost 32 which is very late even for a late bloomer.

He definitely looks 5-8 years older but by his career numbers I would guess he might be closer to his official age than many think.

that's not common at all. From early age they need to bring their birth certificates to participate in any sport. From that first day on, everytime you enter a tournament you need to bring you BC with you. You can even Google any Cuban elite athlete and find out the exact age. Chapman, Gurriel, Abreu, Cespedes, Rigondeaux , any of them you car see the timeline. Some persons are on the need to find something negative. By the way Dominican Republic was known to swap birth certificates, some players adopted their cousins name. Not anymore.

He already admitted he took the first fight because he knew Ortiz was older and it was an advantage after his post fight press conference. How does anyone support this joker is beyond me ? Always younger because when they ask me I tell them to guess and they are always fairly close to my real age so whatever age they say I minus 10. Usually does the trick. On occasions I have gone for the ones that are not intoxicated but they always ask to see my driving licence so I stay away from those

You're just doubling down on dumb this morning. Regardless of how this fight plays out, we all know sure as **** that its not going to be anything like a sparring session between these two.
