That makes Canelo a very generous Champion who offered to pay Kovalevs purse and also Yardes purse so he could step aside but instead Kovalev chose to be Oportunistic and fight the guy (YARDe) he knew he could beat “first” and he saved the fight he knew he could lose last! It’s called a double payday and Kovalev chose to earn his money first and shetted all over his fans just like Pacquiao did when he claimed to be in the best shape of his life but lied about his shoulder vs Mayweather.

Not sure what "almost won" means.

Kovalev got woefully exhausted in his two Ward fights. Stamina in the championship rounds has been a consistent issue for his mature self.

Canelo is an extremely smart fighter. He definitely learned his lesson when he fought Floyd. His team knew exactly what Kovalev's weaknesses were, and built their fight around that, with a plan B and a plan C. They knew Kovalev would wear down, and they would finish him in the later rounds. The cards don't mean **** when you get knocked out.

              that is a HUGE exaggeration

              no fighter is unbeatable

how many fighters in history could jump TWO divisions and be unbeatable?

Canelo is either VERY special... or that is a HUGE exaggeration

He didn't almost win. He was winning on many fans and reporters cards, but was actually down on judges cards because it was in Vegas.

Kov didn't plan to get kod, but he wasn't planning on winning even if he went 12, which would be difficult since he got no time to rest.

When an opponent says post fight, that it was impossible to win - to me it suggests they were beaten, in every sense of the word. This would have a lot more merit, if he had said it pre-fight. However the opposite was true, he called anyone betting against him, foolish in the run up to the fight. Now post devastating knockout, he exclaims it was impossible to win.

What does that say about Canelo? That he's terrifying to share a ring with
