Josh Warrington says that talks have started for a unification fight against Shakur Stevenson, even though his preference for his next fight would see him face Gary Russell Jr instead. Stevenson, 22, won the WBO featherweight title by beating Joet Gonzalez last month in Reno and Warrington, the IBF champion from Leeds, says he is more than happy to face him next, as he tries to nail down a unification fight that eluded him this year.

I think Stevenson will win. Not as easily as I predicted earlier but he should pull it off.

I'm looking forward to this fight if it happens next. Stevenson has looked like the goods but Josh will be his biggest test by far. I'm going for Warrington, who seems to be the underdog in every fight even though he wins every time.

never been a fan of warrington but think this fight would be too early for shakur neither have much pop so it will go the distance and its tough to beat warrington over 12 rounds especially at elland road

Like this fight! Stevenson with a gun to my head, but I think Warrington is absolutely equipped to at least make it interesting and keep the outcome in some degree of doubt.

Not sure you’d advise Shakur to fight Warrington here.

Warrington is strong and has an uncanny ability to get off. I’m sure he can punch a little bit but I doubt he can hurt Warrington. It’ll go 12 and you’re gonna let probably the most passionate fan base of British fighter currently hold home court?

Decent fight but I think Warrington bullies him all night long and wins ugly. Warrington should stay away from Russell jr though. Too good in every conceivable way.
