  • Comments Thread For: Luis Ortiz: Miss My Family - Fuels Desire To Become Champion

The decision to proceed with a rematch with Deontay Wilder was never a concern for Luis Ortiz. Where to set up training headquarters, however, was a topic warranting deeper discussion. The Cuban southpaw literally lives in the gym, a one-bedroom suite set up in head trainer Herman Caicedo's sports complex in Ortiz's adopted hometown of Miami, Florida, whether he has an upcoming fight or just trains to stay sharp. It's where the majority of his time has been spent since turning pro nearly 10 years ago, including for his first heavyweight title fight with Wilder in which he suffered a heartbreaking 10th round knockout last March.

I’m looking forward to this fight, and I wish Luis the best, but he’s not likely to come out of this wearing a belt. He missed his best chance last time. Now he’s only older.

Seen a vid of him today & hes looking thick lol. Anyone else noticed that or am I seeing sh^t. I cant imagine him being bigger is gonna be good for him in the rematch.

I've heard and read that he's looking in much better physical condition than previous fights. I think it was Dougie Fischer from The Ring hinted that alot of knowledgeable people around boxing think he's going to pull the upset.

I personally think Wilder blasts him out quicker and more convincingly than the first fight. I'm right about as often as I'm wrong when it comes to these things so who knows.

He dont look like hes in better condition to me.

Where was Dougie hinting at the rematch reversal at. I wanna check that out if its a vid or something.

And yea Im leaning towards your call. I think its an earlier KO. Although maybe thats just cuz you could blindly bet on a quicker KO by the same guy in a rematch of a fight that ended in a KO & be a winning bettor lifetime.

I only managed to find one article that showed three pictures of Ortiz training in a t-shirt. He definitely looks bigger, but also more muscular, for whatever that’s worth. He’s said to have packed on some muscle, and it seems that way. But it’s going to be about conditioning and landing bombs before Wilder lands his own. That’s what it boils down to. This fight isn’t going to the cards. I think we call all agree on that. Lol
