I think Kovalev vs. Gvozdyk makes sense for both fighters.

Now after some time off and a full training camp for both fighters, I think it would be a great matchup.

      What do you guys think?
In theory yes. In reality Kovalev just got his clock cleaned by a former 154lb champion so he needs a bigger step backwards. I am thinking more the Sullivan Barrera or Joe Smith Jr kind of guys at best.

He should fight a bunch of bums and ride off in the sunset. It's all thats left for him to do, nothing left to accomplish.

Maybe. But if the Kovalev that fought Yarde shows up, Gvozdyk might get beat again.

I think if Kovalev still has the mental motivation, after rest and a proper camp, he is dangerous. If the same version that fought Yarde show up, I wouldn’t mind seeing it.

Problem is Kov was really close to going vs Yarde too...I like Yarde and rate him probably higher than the average guy on here...but if you think the Nail is a level or two above Yarde then yeah the Nail should be in control in that one...he is kind of like a younger version of Kov in a way.

How does that make sense? To send Kovalev off to the brain damage ward with Adonis?

                he needs to retire.

                  I wish Kovi would retire
I think Gvozdyk hurts him badly
Comparing Gvozdyk to Yarde is ludicrous
But Yarde had him in trouble so imagine what Gvozdyk will do to him
I’m thinking Bivol will probably get Canelo at 168 , better like that
Father Time has come knocking better to retire

Yeah but I was left very confused about Gvozdyk after seeing how he couldn’t even hurt Ngumbu.

I think Kovalev who fought Yarde would have demolished Ngumbu.

I think a 100% properly trained Kovalev, past prime as he is now, could hurt Gvozdyk worse than Beterbiev did.
