Devin Haney the youngest fighter to defend a title since Benitez?

French Fry Champion Lomachenko aside, Haney just defended a world title at the age of 20.

He never won a title, its the corrupt WBC handing out belts like candies, not counting that trash belt.

Mike Tyson actually WON a world championship at 20 though. Hell, he was unified champ at 20.

Another fast slick fighter with no power and a mouth bigger than his talent. So raw and inexperienced. Why is he calling out Loma. Maybe in the future he'll improve, but right now, waste of time watching him

Imagine if the two young, undefeated prospects at 135 actually fought each other instead of calling out names.

I'm no fan of Ryan Garcia, but at least he talks about Haney, not Lomachenko.

I thought Mike got it at 21 a few days before Patterson did, must have forgotten.....

Ryan Garcia seems like a clout chaser to me. Haney seems like an adult and a professional.

                A paper champ.

                Not a real title.

It lower than winning a vacant title, at least there you have the number 1 and number 2 contending fighting for the title.

Haney gifted a title and fights a nobody to defend it.

I think any records mentioning the word "belt" or "title" should have a massive asterisk next to them.

Belts and titles in today's context are pointless in comparison to the past. There are more belts in one division today then there used to be in all of boxing 30 years ago.

Mike Tyson fought three times when he was 20 years old. He won the WBC Title and the WBA title, and then had a "tune up" against former heavyweight champ Pinklon Thomas.

The next year, at 21 he won the IBF, and right before his 22nd birthday he beat Spinks for the Lineal.
