Comments Thread For: Robeisy Ramirez Gets First Pro Win, Stops Ibarra in Sixth

Robeisy Ramirez didn't leave anything to chance this time around. The two-time Olympic Gold medalist from Florida by way of Cuba picked up his first pro win on his second try, outworking Fernando Ibarra en route to a 6th round stoppage Saturday evening at Chukchansi Park in Fresno, California.

Good confidence builder for Ramirez I say he rematches Gonzalez in an 8 rounder to erase that loss

Watching the fight now, and just two minutes into the first round Ramirez looks night and day from his last fight.

Amazing what happens when you hire an actual trainer, and not just the guy who helped you out of Cuba.

Missed the fight. What changes did you see there? Hopefully I'll be able to find a replay

They're all there, but six separate videos. Watch them soon before removed.

And everything. His footwork, his handspeed, everything is different lol. Each round he seemed more comfortable.

I’m glad Ramirez turned it around quick from his disastrous debut, but this article pumps up the win a little too much in my opinion. He beat a guy with three pro fights. This is what Robeisy was supposed to do from the start.

This was clearly the Ramirez that was missing in his debut. Night and day difference. The focus was there and he was really into the fight unlike last time where he was disconnected or very distracted. I think for his 5th fight he should rematch the guy from his debut and there is no doubt he would win...he would win now. I'm looking forward to getting excited about him again.

Thanks for the link, man. Ramirez did look like another fighter. Interestingly enough, he must’ve felt a weakness in his opponent’s body. Robeisy was shooting body shots quite a bit in the final round, then landed the finisher.

Not worried about Ramirez losing his Pro Debut, he is a gifted fighter he will work his way right back
