DAZN raising monthly rates to stop churn and entice yearly subscription

If they raise the monthly price and you still decide to buy on a fight by fight basis then you're a dummy. $99 a year is a bargain if they continue to give what they have.
PPV is $75 a piece and 75% of them ain't worth $2Comment

I think I’ve spent like $80 on DAZN this year picking and choosing months.
I subscribed from May 3rd to June 3rd which included:
Canelo vs. Jacobs - 5/4
Taylor vs. Baranchyk - 5/18
Inoue vs. Rodriguez - 5/18
Joshua vs. Ruiz - 6/1
I subscribed from July 26th to August 26th which included:
Ramirez vs. Hooker - 7/27
Ortiz vs. Orozco - 8/10
Estrada vs. Beamon - 8/23
I subscribed from October 25th through November 25th which included:
Prograis vs. Taylor - 10/26
Canelo vs. Kovalev - 11/2
Garcia vs. Duno - 11/2
Estrada vs. Esparza - 11/2
Inoue vs. Donaire - 11/7
Smith vs. Ryder - 11/16
Cancio vs. Alvarado - 11/23
And I’ll subscribe from December 6th to January 6th which includes:
Joshua vs. Ruiz II - 12/7
Ortiz vs. TBA - 12/13
Jacobs vs. Chavez Jr. - 12/20
So for $80 I got:
Canelo vs. Jacobs
Canelo vs. Kovalev
Joshua vs. Ruiz
Joshua vs. Ruiz II
Ramirez vs. Hooker
Inoue vs. Rodriguez
Inoue vs. Donaire
Taylor vs. Baranchyk
Taylor vs. Prograis
Ortiz vs. Orozco
Estrada vs. Beamon
Jacobs vs. Chavez Jr.
Garcia vs. Duno
and a bunch more fights.
PBC turds think Wilder vs. Ortiz II, Santa Cruz vs. Flores, Figueroa vs. Ceja, and Nery vs. Rodriguez for $75 is the best doe!!Comment

I'm not surprised. It's too easy just to sign up for a single fight and then dump the service until the next must-watch fight comes around.
I know a few people, very casual fans, who signed up for Canelo-Kovalev who have zero intention of going any further until Canelo fights again in May. But if they were roped in to a yearly deal they may become more invested to watch.Comment

You can get a DAZN Germany for almost half the price and you still get the same content plus you also get UFC pay per views and NFL games.Comment

Cong**** for you; I don't know the time windows for things out your way, so I won't say much.
Still, watching fights, more than anything, is a social event as much as anything else, in my experience anyway.
Whether it's recalling the ruckus at my house when my dad's friends were over for Nelson-Leija 2 (earliest fight memory that I have zero doubt of), or walking into a fight party for, I believe, Mayweather-Marquez, with the whole room rooting the same way except for a couple of you, or even walking into a Filipino fight party that was hosting Pacquiao-Marquez 4.
Whether it's having a real boxing conversation at a bar with a random person out for the fights, or watching Mayweather-Alvarez at movie theaters and the place erupting, boxing is made better when it's not just you enjoying it.
UK fights are a great pregame to whatever late card is on for that night, but few folks are rallying the circle for just a UK fight (I would make that effort for Anthony Joshua, and Tony Bellew has a soft spot that leaves me rooting for him too. Add Joshua Buatsi, and the well of interest goes dry pretty quick after that).
And you sure as heck aren't seeing parties at 5am.
Glad you're enjoying DAZN thoughComment

I’d bet you are right about the “premium pricing for Canelo”...Comment

Huh? I was probably the FIRST one on here saying they were going to have to raise prices. I have been saying "They can't sustain what they're doing" for as long as I've known about dazn. We're not disagreeing about that.
Making a fake news thread title is uncool though. They haven't done it yet, they haven't announced it yet. Are they considering it? *** yea. I guarantee you they've been considering it for months. I'm just saying don't be like that "Widdit" guy and make fake titles because you're above that shut.Comment
