David Haye gives a very astute assessment and gameplan for Joshua to win. (starts mid point)

Im not sure Joshua is big enough to lay on Ruiz and im not sure Ruiz is weak enough to lay on, can Joshua do that like Wlad did is Josua as big as Wlad? (no hom,o)

Then jab away safely ignore the ref as much as you can and keep clinching and laying.

Id add work relentlessly on head movement and endurance for Joshua.

Good idea on boxing and not looking for the knockout, but Id say box faster or more aggressively if he hasnt gained the endurance he needs for 12 rounds vs ruiz due to his genetics and muscle mass, he may be better to get him early when he is strong, not trying to force the knockout but forcing a higher pace of technical boxing getting it done early somehow be it more risks on counters etc or he could become a gassed sitting duck that could lose like before in the same way.

But yea I guess he could save energy with the wlad style IF he can implement it. Then do Hayes gameplan

Also I think preemptive head movement is wise, this stiff upright European style is like some kind of throw back to the 1900's its ridiculous, it doesn't work you get knocked the **** out if you are always there, see Fury and Witacker.

Also that more exaggerated head movement more than just a subtle move of the head is safer and more effective I bet

I understand what Haye is saying but you can’t just suddenly fight like Wlad.

That style takes years of honing and perfecting. Joshua is a very basic boxer, always has been. He’s not suddenly going improve drastically in one training camp. He is going to be the same fighter. I do think he needs to keep it long though, but actually Wlad’s style isn’t easy for a big muscular heavyweight to do for 12 rounds. Wlad was lighter on his feet than he gets credit for. In his prime he had good footwork, not a dancer but very quick to take a step out of range, which AJ doesn’t have. It was a big part of Wlad’s style. In fact, i think it’s what troubled Haye, that Wlad was a bit more agile than he expected and Haye could never get in range.

AJ cannot replicate Wlad, at least not for 12 rounds.

AJ just needs to do what he always does, just be himself. Maybe it’ll be enough this time round or maybe it won’t but i think he would be ****** to think he can switch his style up in one training camp for a high level fight.

Thats a good point I didnt think of that , maybe it takes longer to develop that clinching ability? Or is it well within his skill set? Yea I can see you being right there it takes some kind of skill to safety tie up all the time at least as well as wlad did?

Did botha used to Tie up alot or did he only do it for the Tyson fight? That worked really well against Tyson... for 8 rounds

Does he have a jab and clinch that could work well for that safety 1st style?

AJ doesn't have to change much he had Ruiz down 1st so a prepared AJ not jumping around looking for opponents is another animal after he wins they will say Ruiz was overrated ., Ha

He really slimmed down, impressive he really worked on endurance, thats awesome his power isnt going anywhere even with less weight.

Hopefully he still works his traps and neck for size though, he needs that still
