    Valuev not that bad !?!?!

Just rewatched Valuev versus Beck. Admittedly Owen 'What the Heck?' Beck is fairly low level opposition and with King at the helm top opponents won't be allowed but Valuev is actually not unskilled.

    Cons
Slow, awkward, body hard to defend.

    Pros
Height, Strength, Direct, chopping punches from angles. Covers head well, Can finish, throws continuously and steadily. Solid jab. Moves better than expected.

I have to say that the Valuev team really do maximise his abilities. He's far from the prettiest fighter in any sense but I have to say that the only current heavyweight that has the attributes to take him is Wladimir Klitschko and as always with Wlad he's a clean shot away from a knockout.

Rahman is too defensively weak and Valuev covers the already hard to reach head well. Valuev would catch his chin at some point.

Sam Peter would be fun to watch but has never shown much interest in hitting the body or in training overmuch. He's too short and would have a lot of trouble with the straight shots that Valuev uses as his primary weapon is a looping hook.

Toney has neither the reach or the power. Boring fight. Press conferences would be hilarious though.

Lyakovich I believe is just overmatched. Decent fighter, would take some punishment but would get leaned on and jabbed to a decision.

Noone else is even in the same ballpark right now. I wouldn't even mention Tua, Ibragimov, Brewster, Byrd, Ruiz, Maskaev etc. at the moment.

We all know what Joe Louis did to a huge man (in the rematch of course). Dammit we need some good heavyweights.

His jab is DECENT. His punches are heavy and dont have snap on them. Although he got height he doesnt do a very good job at keeping guys at bay. He should've lost against Donald and Ruiz. Outboxed both times clearly. His record is padded and In my view has beaten anyone noteworthy legitimately. All of the other title holders should be able to beat this guy by a wide margin. But anyone but Wladimir or Lyhovich would get robbed in Germany if it went 12 rounds.

You really think Rahman could take him? Rahman has looked poor for quite some time. His best fight was against Toney and that was with a month and a half extra training due to Vitali's pull out. In that fight he didn't trouble Toney. The only thing that troubled Toney was the 9 months pregnant look.
Not saying you're wrong and I'm certainly not a fan of Valuev but I personally think he'd catch Rahman with a straight one and sit him down.
I didn't watch the Donald fight but Ruiz makes everyone look bad (except Tua lol).
Gonna go search for the Donald fight.
