Sultan Ibragimove lords it over no sultanate, I think.

And a fighter with a 15-24 record whom he KOd in the 5th in 2004 was named Onebo Maxime. He might as well have been named Minime and few will protest.

There's a fighter who is a Czar, though he is in no way Russian. He's a Filipino with a 17-1 record. He saw action in the undercard of Pacquiao-Larios. Edit: His surname is Amonsot, as I recall.

There was a Duke Abraham who was active in 1945. All that's known about him is that he had 1 win and 1 loss and that he was American. His realm was unknown. There were at the very least 8 other Dukes, with surnames such as Bailer to Corney who were his contemporaries, but each one never ruled a boxing realm, much less a dukedom. But that does not mean all Dukes didn't get to rule. There was Duke McKenzie who was IBF Fly ('88-89) and WBO SuperBantam ('91-'93) champ.Though British, don't try to find his name in the rolls of the House of Lords.

There's an Emir, but not one that hails from any Emirate in the Middle East. He's Caril Emir Herrera, and the people of Uruguay have high expectations of him. He is undefeated after 17 bouts (11KOs) and holds the WBC Latino Superfly diadem.

And there's Tommy Morrison, aka, "The Duke".

In years past there were fighters named "King Solomon"--people who obviously were unabashed about claiming royal lineage but even had the temerity to take the name of possibly the wisest king of recorded history. A BIBLICAL king, no less!

There was the King Solomon of the 1920's who was a trailhorse Panamanian. Some best remember him as the one who lost to Tommy Loughran in a non-title bout.

Then there was the King Solomon of Philly, whose last fight was a win over Arturo Gatti (for Gatti's first loss).

There was a King Solomon in the 60's who fought in Zambia and another King Solomon from Chicago with a short-lived career in the mid-50's.

Royal affectation is not new really.

I wonder if these guys will be allowed to make it their legal name.

same as 'Marvelous' being part of legal name of Marvin Hagler.
